i have the highest celeron + ti200 ( which i managed to o/c almost to ti500 [255/490] :p ) the 3dmark2001 score is 8290 :)

11 x 144 @ cas2 is pretty impressive :), also, what vcore is it? does it really matter how high the vcore goes? i'd go higher if i could, but i cant :( celeron 1.1a's are around ~$40, kill time, have fun :D

I'll mention it one more time. A good motherboard for the Cely Tualy is the ABIT ST6. It sells for the low to mid $60s and also comes in a RAID version. It has voltage adjustments if you need them by software settings.

As for as OCing goes, in general the latter production Cely Tualys OC better and often you can go up a respectable amount of speed with with stock voltage. I'm running my 1.0A at stock voltage at FSB 133 thus 1.33 ghz. With the summer heat, it is running in the mid 40's C which ain't bad, but I'm not going to up the speed more until either winter comes or I get a better cooler and some Arctic silver.

I'd like to add this - I had heat problems using the stock heat sink and stock thermal pad (which is a think crappy pad). As soon as I carefully removed the pad and applied some thermal grease (cheap Radio Shack no less!!!), the temps dropped from about 50 degrees C to the low 40's at idle!

You can connect pins to up the voltage to, I believe, 1.675V. You can modify any S370 motherboard or the CPU itself. Search on the web by typing in Tualatin Mod or alike.

Newegg refurb has VH6T for $39 shipped (only one left as I type this). It's ATX again, but it's usually not very easy to find good overclocking motherboards in all in one MicroATX form.

One more thing, I am just curious, but if you have to buy a CPU, memory, and motherboard, why aren't you looking at something other than Tualatin Celeron? I admit that P4 system could be quite expensive still. But, as the price of Athlon XP is so low now, you should be able to build AMD system spending about the same money.

I have two MicroATX KT133a motherboards, and they are both pretty good although they both do not have any overclocking feature at all. Still, I think that Athlon XP 1600+ to 1800+ running at stock speed on a DDDR based motherboard (or even on SDRAM based one like mine) should be faster than overclocked Tualatin Celeron.

Of course, power supply could be a problem with AMD system, but it has gotten better with XP.

Anyway, f you buy S370 motherboard and SDRAM new now, you will have a hard time upgrading them the next time.

On the contrary, I have just bought one 1.0A and traded my Asus P4B266-C for Asus TUV4X just because I wanted to play with Tualatin Celeron. I will probably use them to upgrade my sister's computer.

I have a 1.2A and the highest I've gotten on an Abit ST6 (great board, although it doesn't seem to like ANY soundcard besides the onboard AC97) is 127 FSB @ 1/3 PCI divider. I think I have an A1 stepping (I'd check but my OCZ Goliath 2 is tightly fitted on the Celly).

However it's currently running @ stock speed, cuz I can't get my IBM 60GXP 20GB HDD to initiate Win2000 Professional without BSOD.
Can anyone with this combination recommend a HDD and a sound card (thinking of a SBLive!, but 127MHz is 43MHz PCI...don't know if a SBLive! can go that high) for me? The onboard audio refuses to work above 110 MHz FSB (or 37MHz PCI)?

Also I've found the chip to be particularly capable. It can post @ 1512 MHz @ 1.5V, whereas my old Coppermine 700 needed 1.8V to do 1050.

I had a BX6 running a Celeron at 83mhz bus (41.5mhz PCI) and the following hardware didn't have a problem:

Maxtor 80gb 7200rpm ATA 133
AGP Radeon 7500
PCI live!
PCI 3Com NIC
ISA 3Com modem
