Celeron or P3?

I can't decide between the Celeron or P3. Which is faster? The Celeron 1.1GHz or the P3-850Mhz? thanks

Personally I'd go for the Pentium III because of the larger cache - I'd think it would be faster than the Celeron 1.1

It totally depends on what you will be going with the machine.

big price difference, but not big performance difference.

you should consider new Celeron 1.2,
the price of Celeron 1.2 + mb is like a P3 1.0 alone.
new Celeron 1.2 should match up P3 1.0 performance.

Not to mention you can O.C. the Celery to about 1.5 ghz according to Tom's Hardware!!! (Good luck on getting much over 1ghz with the P3.)

I can relate to the P3 not going any higher! The only thing I can tell is the difference is the cache size. Cache works best when it know what to load next. Don't think games utilize this as much as desktop applications (I think).
