Celeron M 330 130nm 512 cache 1.4ghz Which core?

Is the celeron M 330 a Dothan based core or a P4 based core or something else? Will performance be similar to the desktop celeron 330 (2.66ghz iirc)?

it is banias based. banias us the predecessor to the dothan, so similar (although not quite as good) of performance. no idea how fast they are compared to desktop celerons.

Thanks. So the IPC is Dothanish and not northwood or prescottish? It just misses the extra cache and some features of the dothan?

It about the same as a 2 Ghz northwood or better, maybe 2.2 Ghz. the IPC is alot higher then that of the northwood/prescott.

The Dothan is an optimized die shrink of Banias, in a nutshell. With same cache, Dothan and Banias should be almost identical in performance. In RL Dothan beats Banias because they have double cache.

You considering a Celeron M notebook? The chip almost performs as well as the Pentium M, with one thing missing. IIRC it doesn't have advanced speedstep, so battery life won't be as good as Pentium M, though it should be much better than Celeron/P4, and still a bit better than mobile Celeron/P4, relatively speaking.
