Bought a celeron II 600 from some guy on egay. i just want to know if celeron 2 600s are known to work with p3v4x bios 1005. i also tried it on a CUBX with bios 1006. System wouldn't even boot. Dead CPU? I tried celeron PPGAs, PII and PIIIs on those motherboards and they work fine. Thanks ahead of time.

If the motherboard supports Pentium 3 CPU's then it also supports Celeron II's. If this is the case you probably have a dead CPU. I bought one that was also dead, some time ago, and the system wouldn't even give erros beeps. It just started up the heatsink's fan and sit there.

I used the 1007 beta bios on the CUBX and the Cel 2 600 and o/c to 900. Use the GORB for cooling. The Beta Bios may not be absolutely necessary but it works. I installed and formatted at least 7 times (linux 3 versions, Win 2000 2 times and WinME 2 times) on this board when overclocked and it never hiccupped.
