Only $299. I think the barebones w/o cpu usually goes for $250. Anyways, I brought this over here cuz I have a question about it, but I didn't feel like making a userid at FW. Can anyone who has this or has seen it up close tell me if it can be anodized or not? I know someone who does electroplating, and I'd like to turn it black. I need to know if all the computer parts can be completely removed from the case, and if the case already has some sort of plating on it. Anyone?
 
Anand's main site did a review of the lil box and I believe they said they gutted it completely because they wanted to do something but didnt want to hurt the innards.
 
Nice deal! Also, it is solid aluminum...I don't know what your freind can do, but it should be plated at all. You can remove all the components out of the case form what I have seen.

Well, more like a friend of a friend. I've seen some small examples, and they look pretty damn cool! Supposedly he gets a quite a few people wanting their cases done.
 
yes it can be anodized.

i have an sv24 w/ a p3-1.0, works great. my buddy is cutting me a custom polycarbonate smoked front piece, the front facia it comes with looks azz.
 
I bought one of these as a DivX/Mame machine for my entertainment center. It works great. If you need a good wireless keyboard for it, I found a great/cheap one at http://www.coolerexpress.com/rfminkeywbui.html - its the first time I've shopped with them, but they sent it out immediatley and I got it the next day. It says the range is 6ft, but I actually had it working from 30ft.
 
can this machine run w/out a monitor? I mean can you only use the tv out? I don't want to have to put a monitor next to my big tv just to boot this thing up.
 
yes it boots without monitor - it does not hang the bios although it gives you the standard beeps during the post for no-video card but it'll boot fine.

it will also boot with no keyboard and mouse or anything, i have one running only with power and ethernet at my other house as a server, has win2k advanced server and is controlled via term server.
