Celebrating the 4th of July. Why?

I dont.

Two years ago I got bullied by an illegal while walking to the park to watch fireworks.
Kind of killed my enthusiasm. In that time since there are even more of them and they are much more hostile. My local government goes out of their way to make sure they are as comfortable as possible in my town.

The 4th of July symbolizes our freedom. Our independence. Our continued fight for our freedom, not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution -- but from annihilation.

We're fighting for our right to live, to exist.

And should we win the day, the 4th of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world declared in one voice:

We will not go quietly into the night!

We will not vanish without a fight!

We're going to live on!

We're going to survive!

Today, we celebrate our Independence Day!

Why celebrate the 4th of July, our Independence Day?

Because, if nothing else, it means we're not "affiliated" with Neckbeard.

THAT is worth celebrating by itself!!

Oh say, can you see?
In this land of the free
and home of the brave Navajo
Why so proudly we hail?
We should be in jail
We stole it from them you know.

Does your grandfather post here under the alias of brianmanahan?

Reminds me of the Jay-Walking clips.

I can't believe the average person is that ignorant. Maybe the average beach goer?
Though I guess you could argue Sept 3rd to be the true Independence Day since that when the war officially ended.
