I've come to the end of my contract with Sprint, and I've been mostly happy, but if I try to increase my plan, then my nights will shift from 8pm to 9pm (funny how they can redefine when night time starts). I live in NYC, so coverage is pretty good for most providers, and I've come up with the following list. Can anybody speak to any of these, or tell me if they know any of these still have nights that start at 8:00 or earlier? Thanks.

Sprint
Verizon
AT&T
MCI Worldcom

Did I forget any?

I used to use Sprint PCS. I now use Verizon. Their nights start at 9 for my plan. I like that you can't be charged for roaming if you're in your home area. With SPCS, you can incur roaming charges accidentally right in your city.

There's a roam-protect feature on most phones nowadays.. you have to turn it on and it will warn you before you make the call if you are indeed roaming.

I'm using SprintPCS as well and their service isn't bad. Their custreps need some help, but I haven't had to call that much anymore. Is that 9pm thing just for new subscriptions? I've had service for many months now.

I live in NYC and I have service with VoiceStream. IMO their service sucks cause reception is so bad. Even when i'm in my house i have to sit next to my window sometimes to get better reception. VoiceStream doesn't give you nights. only weekends.

I had AT&T before and I thought their service was much better. I heard Verizon is cool too and they give you lots of night/weekend minutes like AT&T

I think I'll call customer service now, and see what happens. It's time to call and how waiting times are. I'd expect SPCS to be about 10-30 minutes right now.

OMG, I got right through, zero hold time!!!

My night minutes start at 9 in Minnesota. She said they start at 8 out west, but it's 9 for me.

Verizon CS wins!

Sprint has been pretty good in NYC.
Anybody here use Cingular, Erricson (whatever provider their phones use), or Nextel?
