In short, I'm a CE major at RIT and I had no idea the job market was on the downslide. I do know that CE's have been taking jobs as Software Engineers and the like but this is to be expected if that is your interest.

Someone pointed out that lower enrollment may be due to restrictions on foreign students entering the country.

Well hopefully in 3 years when I graduate there will be a shortage again 🙂

btw I've heard it said that primarily IT, support, and menial programming jobs were the ones mostly outsourced?

It's ok from what I hear.

Most of the outsourced jobs are IT, programming monkey, call center, sales, etc. jobs. If you're in engineering, talk to your international classmates. We complain that jobs are going offshore, they complain that the only jobs available to them back home are primarily junk jobs (of course not all).
