Well, I burn MP3s, no errors in the recording process. The CD shows as having the correct amount of data on it. Winamp shows the correct amount of songs. HOWEVER, winamp shows no signal when playing, and regular audio CD players do not recognize the CD. Help!

update: burning data works fine, so i just burned a whole lot of MP3s to use on the office comp, but it would still be nice to have audio CDs.

You're not using cdrw's are you? I burned a lot of mp3s to a cdrw and my truck and regular cd player wouldn't read them. Burned them to a regular cd and worked ok. Also, some older cdroms won't read the new cds. I downloaded a reader from adaptecs site for use in older cdroms. Something to think about.

Correct: had same newbie prob. cdrws wouldn't produce audio cd. I also noticed on data cdrw that I could write something (and close it) but other pc couldn't read it unless loaded with specif software for reading (this was adaptec on HP).

audio cd players do not recognize the mp3 format; u need to convert to wav first, then burn wavs to cdr

does the computer in question play other mp3s (not off the cds) ok?

can u copy the mp3s from the cdr to the hard drive and then play them?

is the cd-rom drive having trouble reading them?

what do you mean winamp shows no signal?

Yah, i was burning wava, that is what would not work. Winamp looks like it is playing the songs, but there is no signal output on the equalizer.

I just put the MP3s on the disk because both my computers read them fine off the CDR.

so winamp can't play the wavs off the cdr...
did u include wav or audio cd support on winamp installation?
is the audio cable connected from the cd-rom to the sound card?

most older cd players don't support cdrs, you could try music cdrs but i doubt they'll help any

make sure you close the session, else cd players can't figure out where is the beginning and end of the cd

Try a different quality CDR, and if that doesn't work, then try playing it on a different player.
