Maybe I should've known before hand, but i never got the memo.

I just happen to be in walmart and my wife wanted the Puddle of Mudd CD and I saw the new Metallica (picked it up for the DVD included).

unwrapped the CD's in the car, popped them in the CD player and DAMN they were both edited versions! All the cuss words were bleeped out in every song (and covered up in the printed lyrics)!

I was pissed so I brought them back. Walmart said that once a CD has been opened they cannot give a refund, only an exchange for the exact CD.

I finally went and looked at their CD section again, and found the word "edited" in small, not very obvious print on the price label.

They really should make it more obvious that you are buying a censored / edited CD. Unless you know this practice before hand it is not very clear to the buyer.

they stuck a copy of "the wall 2000" in with the pink floyd records. i thought it was a newly remastered version of the wall, put it in the cd player, found it wasn't the right one, and of course i couldn't return it.

everyone who has ever legitimately wanted to return a cd should file a lawsuit against the RIAA just to piss them off

Is that a good CD? I don't have many Pink Floyd cover bands.

Same thing goes for DVD's. They won't carry unrated DVD's. For example...Old School, American Pie, Road Trip...They'll only carry the R rated versions.

We'll sell GTA3-Vice City, but not CD's with bad words on them.

Makes sense.

How did you NOT know that Walmart only sells edited CDs?

Wal-mart strives to be "family friendly", whatever the hell that means.

They were taking Maxim off or at least blacking out the cover if I recall correctly. The girls pics were too revealing.

Have you heard the trance covers? Some of those are pretty cool.

I wonder if it would work...

no they will open the package.

Maybe you could snatch it from their hands before they do that and run out of the store(after paying of course);)

I like some of the orchestra covers. :) It sounds cool hearing a trumpet playing the vocal part of wish you were here.
