Yeah, just yesterday I burned some discs for friends. Or was it last week? Cant recall.
Anyway it was some free albums I got from Amazon. I dont think they have free downloadable albums anymore, just the free streaming.

I've got Blurays for movies but other than that, haven't touched CD's or DVD's in many years.

This is like asking people if they still have books in their homes.

Of course there will be some who maintain large libraries, just as there will be ones who think streaming is all they'll ever need.

Yep - I want to have the full versions of albums and be able to watch movies where and when I want. If I could buy an album of FLAC (or some other lossless format) files, download an unlocked MPEG or something similar, I would. It's kind of like books - I'd go digital if it was available in an unlocked open format. This is why I like Springer e-textbooks - they're in PDF format. I'll pay more for a PDF than a Kindle format.

I rip music CDs to lossless FLAC format for my music jukebox PC, so I use each CD exactly once.

I got the X-Com 2 preorder from Amazon (20% prime discount) when it came out, and that cane with DVDs that reduced the amount to download from Steam.

Otherwise, maybe once a year for my PCs.

They are useful for sharing pictures videos, and music with non-computer friends and family.

I burn h.264 files of recorded TV shows onto DVDs. They work like the DVDs from a DVD recorder in my Blu Ray player, except the resolution and quality are both much better. Although I do seem to be moving more to streaming over the network lately.

I prefer owning over streaming, although I've bought over 5000 flac albums from Bandcamp - that I burn to Blu-ray MDisc for backup. Like Corkyg, I share with family and friends. I was converting home movies from tape to DVD for a while as well.
