ok guys still looking for help. my hp 8100 worked fine in the hp,i had it gutted to a new tower,kept the dvd,burner,ram,hard drive with a k7t turbo t-bird 800,now everything works fine except the 8100.the stuff i know,,i've got nero 5.5 and roxio and the drive just
doesn't want to do right.i believe it's using 98se drivers,the hard drive is on one ide slot and the dvd and 8100 are on another. the error messages is this
E 80041882:CD Error Power Calibration Area Error (03/73/03)
E 80041925:TrackWriter Error Command Retry Failed (T7118)

Put DVD on pri. channel as slave CD burner on sec. channel as master and enable DMA both dvd and burner good luck.
