CDRW preventing standby in Win 2000

I just loaded Win 2000 with SP2 and when the machine tries to go into standby I get a message saying "the device driver for the IDE-CD R/RW 4x4x24 device is preventing the machine from entering standby."

I have an HP 8250i CDRW. It is using the drivers provided with Windows. HP's site doesn't have any. Any ideas on what is wrong?

Boot to safe mode. See if there are multiple entries for it in the device manager. Remove it from the device manager. Boot normally and try again. Make sure your master/slave jumpers are right and that you're plugged into the right port on the ide cable.
