cdrom question

Does it matter what interface (EIDE, DMA66, etc.) you use to connect a cdrom drive? If I have a cdrom that supports DMA33 should I get a cable that supports it or will I be fine with a regular IDE cable? Also does anyone here use an Afreey cdrom drive? How reliable/fast are they? I just got one and I'm hoping I won't have any problems with it.

I have a 45X afreey drive in one of my PC's and haven't a problem with it. On the other hand i had a name brand in another box that craped out on me. And i have found good performance turning off UDMA in the bios on the cdrom and setting DMA in the OS for that drive.
