don't really know the cause but if you eject your cd via software in my computer it'll refresh.

I'm using XP with SP1 my cd still says COD1. Was playing some call of duty couple days ago. Mine could be because I have the auto cd detect disabled.

I've had the same problem for quite some time, just never bothered to fix it since it didn't bother me.

XP w/ SP1 and all patches, autoinsert disabled (I'm thinking that could be doing it)

This problem is caused by having 'auto-insert notification' disabled. Enable it to allow the system to detect a disc change automatically.

Right-click on "My Computer", then select "Properties", then go to the "Device Manager" tab at the top. Now, just find your cd-rom drive, then select it (left-click on it), and select "Properties" again, and it will be under the "Settings" tab.

This is the one I'm using sorry thought it was called tweak xp it's called tweakui. Can get it from microsoft powertoys
Powertoys

Start tweak ui expand my computer. Expand autoplay click drives and you can check what drives you want to autoplay

Then you can right click the drive select properties and there should be an autoplay tab. Can setup what type of files you want the drive to autoplay.

You don't want to enable auto insert notification or autoplay or any of the above if you have a cd burner. Doing so can cause problems. More info.

So the question remains: how do we get the drives in "My Computer" to refresh their titles when a new CD/DVD is inserted? F5 does not work.

I got a cd burner no problems here. Course I don't have it enabled for that drive just the one I use.
