well fry's have those 29 cents GQ cdrws that everyone should stay away from. i've been using those for small data transfers, so it doesnt matter what i use before.... BUT, recently, i got a napa dav 310 mp3 cd player. those crappy GQs will skip like a mother if i pop those CDs in there. what i really want is opinions from u guys:

which brand of cdrws do u guys use? (or stay away from?)

and which brand of cdrs do u guys use? (or stay away from?)

thanx!!

those "GQ" brand stuff is kinda on the poor side of the quality. I usually get my bulk CDR/RWs from a dealer I know, and they do carry good quality bulks. and as for name brand, I never have a problem with pretty much any one.

TDK Certified Plus, (not 100% certified). They are cheaper (to manufacture) than the Kodak Gold and almost as good a quality. The seem to read in drives better than many factory pressed cd's as well.

the TDK 12x 80min with ultra-slim jewel case I recently bought has both the word "100% certified" and the certified plus logo on the front, the certified plus logo on the back. Made in USA.

Just stay away from the TDK's made in Taiwan. The ones made in Japan are Taiyo Yudens and the ones from the US are their own which are one of the best...

Stay away from PNY cd-r too,
I tried some to burn audio cd, music skips at one place on every disc (not at the same place).
It's ok for burning audio cd from mp3 using cheap disc.

Anything generic ... i'd stay away from unless you know who the OEM mfg is. Why bother with cheap-ass cdrs when you can get decent stuff for the same price?

I use Mitsui Chemicals, Kodak Ultima Gold, Ultima Silver, Ultima Silver/Gold, KAO Diskeeper (got a bunch from a friend), FujiFilm 80min cdr (Taiyo Yuden) at the moment.

I'd stay clear from Ritek, CMC Magnetics, Gigastorage and any other Taiwanese presser. Forget them.
