I tracked my boot and driver delays using Bootvis and found that at the "+12sec" mark the driver cdfs.sys loads for ~9secs before "releasing" control of my system. Among the various drivers that load, the cdf.sys seems to be my limiting factor and kills any hope of a speedy boot up. Interesting to note at the very time cdfs.sys emerges the Disk I/O skys to well above 1000 IO/sec. Anyone know how that might relate to the problem?
I think its worth mentioning that I have a CD-ROM & CD-RW residing together on a Promise ATA/66 PCI Controller with Two Hard Drivers on my Secondary IDE Controller -- Primary IDE Controller is shot and cannot accept any devices. I'm running WinXP Pro.
Any assistance is most appreciated.
