Again, You must be confusing me with someone else because I never said anything relating to anti-smoking legislation. My problem is that it is generally acceptable to many smokers to discard their used filters on the side of the road. You are simply a retard if you cannot understand what I said.

Its not generally acceptable to me or any of my courteous friends that smoke. I keep a bin outside my house for all my butts as do my neighbors. I drive on the busiest roads in NY and I rarely see someone throwing their butts out the window. In fact, due to air pollution, most of them have their windows closed. Again, I'm sorry you fail to see why your statement is insulting.

Yes. Infringing on each other with blanket legislation without fair compromise will turn anyone into a retard. It includes both you and me.

I'm sorry you fail to see why your original quote is insulting. Change some of the words in your statement with black, jew or gay and you'll see why it would offend someone innocent of throwing butts out the window.

Did you just equate somebody that chooses to smoke to somebody who is born black/gay/Jewish?

That may be true with you.. but generally it is so widespread that it is extremely annoying.

But it should be up to the bar/restaurant owner to decide if they want smoking or not. Then it would be YOUR choice if you want to visit that establishment. That's the trick.

I agree but I have to admit... It's very nice to live in a place where I can go anywhere and not have to suck on someone else's smoke all night.

No more annoying than any type of littering. I find assholes who drive and talk on the Cells a hell of a lot more annoying that occasional smokers discarding their butts on the road.

It is pretty nice to be able to go out to the bar and not come home with everything smelling like shit. It would be very cold out and I'd be walking to the bar without my jacket since I always tried to leave it in the car/at home so it didn't get stanked up.

But still, I tend to side with those that say it should be up to the private owner to decide. As for children, well outside of bars where they can't be anyway, I've never been in a restaurant were it is super smokey. And it's up to the parents to not take them there anyway but that kind of responsibility is seeming to be forgotten for most.

Plenty of times when I was a kid I would go to places with my parents. We'd sit in the non-smoking section, but sometimes it wasn't available so for an hour I could smell the cigarette smoke, big deal.

states are baning smoking in any public building, but at least in So Cal Hookah bars are opening up in record numbers. It's ironic if I wanted to open up a bar I cannot allow patrons to smoke their Marlboros. But if I open a Hookah bar, it's somehow fine. The funniest shit was a few months ago I saw somebody at Yardhouse smoking an E-Cig, which produces zero smoke and zero smell. Somebody saw them doing it and complained even after it was explained to them that it was nothing like a regular cig. The person "smoking" was still asked to leave.

10 years is too long. Should have passed these bans years ago, preferably with 20 meter buffers around buildings, so the retards can't just wake around and light up.

If a business owner wishes to have an establishment that caters to smokers, they should be allowed to. Just as tobacco should not be banned.

As a non-smoker, I don't have a problem with having "smoking allowed" establishments; I think there's enough of a market for there to be both smoker and smoke-free bars. I will add as a caveat though that anywhere that allows smoking should required to note it prominently on advertisements and have large signs at the entrance advising such so that non-smokers can avoid the place or be aware before entry.

This.

Fuck smokers.

exactly. If you want to have sex with watermelons and dead squirrels in your own home then I am happy for you. Out in public I dont have the right to spit in your face which is what I equate to having smoke blown in my face...

Good news, stamp it out. I'm in favor of eradication of the tobacco species kinda like smallpox.

when I was in cancun they actually has "smoking rooms" at the clubs and it seemed to work well for the smokers. maybe this will catch on eventually at places in america.

No, it's the opposite. The rest of the world will have to catch up to what's going on in America. Tobacco is a much worse problem outside the USA.

No, it should all be banned. If you kill in the privacy of your own home, you're guilty. If you subject others in your home to smoke, you're impacting their lives. Tobacco is a scourge.

I hate parents who smoke in presence of toddlers..
