I started with a SCSI 2X burner. Took 45 minutes for one CD!
Then I upgraded to a Smart & Friendly SCSI 8X burner. Wow! Only 9 minutes to do one CD!
I still use that burner all the time. I never found a reason to upgrade it!

That is nothing. I bet I usually have 3x as much stuff in my taskbar. His computer seems fairly organized.

Is it even worth it to spend $80 on a good 52x burner or should I save my pennies for a dvd-rw?

I got 2 40x Burners from Circuit City this week for $9.98 EACH. I'd say my time is worth that. :)

I originally had a 2x for about 3 years. Then I upgraded to a 12x and have had that for about 1 year. Now I just bought a 48x. The 12x is a Plextor and my favorite still. I burn with my 48x, but I like the 12x better. It's more reliable than the cheap 48x.
