CD-RWs question...

i didn't know they already had 56x cd-r/w drives but their top speeds have pretty much been reached. i can't remember why they're topping off at 50-60x speeds. isn't 2-3 minutes of a 52x drive fast enough for you?
 
Plus, I was under the impression that CD-RW was topped out at like 24x and it was CD-R at 52x. The issue here are the many reports of CD-Rs cracking/shattering when spun at such high rotational speeds. The other issue is media. I don't know if they even make CD-RW (if you are talking specifically about -RW) media rated for more than 24x.
