CD-RW, buyin a new one.......

i'm getting ready to order a new cd-rw drive, been looking at the Lite On 40X12X48 but i have heard it's not compatible with some burning software. Just want to know if someone has this drive and if nero, cdrwin, clonecd werk well w/ it.

I don't have the drive but I reviewed it for a local magazine.

Nero 5.5.7.8 (and above) supports the drive, but I couldn't get CloneCD to fully utilize it (although by this time, they may have already released a newer version of CloneCD that supports it.

Anyway, the unit that I reviewed came with an OEM version of Nero.

Get a Plextor 24x(SD2 compat) or 16x(non SD2 compat) if you're planning on using many many different burning softwares. Just about any softwares out there will work with these Plextor drives.
 
$85 at newegg will get you a mitsumi 32x burner. Haven't had a problem with it yet. Running nero and fireburner on it so far. Works like a champ.
