I stuck one of the "Big Chugs" from 711 in my dad's cupholder, and it broke. Can I glue it in before he gets home and yells at me? It was an expensive cupholder too, it had this neat thing where you press a button and it goes inside it's holder to save space when your not using it.

And why is my cd stuck in my dad's 5 1/4" floppy drive?

<< Can any body tell me whether there is a software that can convert your normal CD rom To write CD?s and if so what is the software and where is it available (best price) >>

Well, do you know summer is coming? Can anyone tell me whether there is a software that can convert my old speed fan to a powerful air-conditioner? My bedroom is damn hot. I would pay much premium for the software if there is available. Gee, I've already kept the door of my refrigerator open all night long but the heat wave is still around...

I am just glad to see that some of us anandtechers provided a little GOOD information for this obvious newbie without COMPLETELY tearing them to shreds. Remember, we were ALL newbies at one point.

I had a friend who was convinced that there was software to make a CD-RW able to burn DVD movies. That was almost as funny as this.

guys, don't be so mean to this poor newbie.

i think it's safe to assume that you don't have a CD-RW drive. search the forums for a good deal. they go for pretty cheap nowadays, under $100 for a 4/8/32 or even faster. oh, and here's a tip. have someone install it for you - don't do it yourself :D

edit:
Here's one
Here's another
yet another

krishen007Lomez It can not be done. A plain CDROM will only read CDs. Exactly like a record player can only play records. You can not make a copy of record with it.

A CDRW or sometimes called a " burner" can do both play a music CD and make a copy of that music cd. This is done by placing a blank CD into the CDRW. Then a laser burns the blank CD.

Come on people ease up. Krishen is obviously a young kid. First/Last Name in alais. Showing ALL INFO in profile...... What if it was your kid ;or younger brother or sister ?

Welcome aboard Krishen ! Next time go to this thread to ask your question.

I'm a software developer working on just such a program. Right now it's just in the development stages.

We currently have a software package that can convert any PC from 8088 up to P-III into a P-IV. It went on sale last April 1st.

The program that will hopefully make me a lot of money is currently in Beta test. It can turn a 1983 Ford Tempo into a 2001 Porsche 911 Turbo. Just plug your laptop into the car's onboard computer diagnostic port, and execute the software. Right now it's a little buggy, some Beta testers are reporting that their cars were mistakenly converted to 1997 Dodge Caravans for some reason. You can bet we'll have the bugs ironed out before our software package hits the shelves.

We've also been getting a lot of requests for a software package to convert existing girlfriends into various famouse people (i.e. Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, etc). We will probably start development on this software package in Q4 2001.
