CD-Rom question

Hello,

I have a perplexing problem and was wondering if someone could perhaps shed
some light for me.

I have a CD-ROM that contains an E-book in .PDF format, along with some
other files and programs. I copied all the files contained on the disk to my
HDD and would like to run the programs and open the E-book from the HDD but
when I attempt this, I am given the error messege that the program and
e-book must be launched from the actual CD-ROM itself.
I was able to run these things from a network server at one time but I do
not recall what it was that I did to accomplish this.

Can anyone help me out?

are you trying to open the file with adobe acrobat or some other type of application?
