CD Ripping?

Howdy,

I'm looking to take my CDs and rip them to MP3s to use on my computer. I know that some softare program can pull the Song, Artist, Album, etc info right out of the song if it's encoded right. Some clso pull the cover art of the Album out as well.

What software program can do all that stuff including storing a picture of the cover art in the file as well?

Thanks.

Most newer apps can do this if the CD has the info encoded. Many can also go out to a public database on the net called CDDB and get the info from there.

I have always used a program called CDnGo.

http://www.cdngo.com/

Its a free and simple app with support for CDDB. Its not being updated anymore, not since 2003, but the last revision has never given me any problems.

Both CDex and EAC are great for ripping MP3's (with the LAME encoder), and can pull the artist/album/title information from CDDB. However, I know CDex hasn't implemented cover art and I don't think EAC has either.

Heh, just checked out the CDeX site over at sourceforge and it's broken. Can't get my registration email to be able to post. Contact the webmaster link rejects the email... Features don't say anything about cover art so something tells me that won't work...

Ah, that is easy. I don't use WMP much. DIdn't know it has such a nice Ripping feature. I'll play with this and see how it goes.
