I've been using CDex and I love it, but I would like to rip partial tracks and fade out at the end. I know it will do partials, but I can't figure out if it can do the fade.

Anyone have a suggestion for a free ripper that will allow me to fade the end of a track?

I'm unsure of any ripping software that does that, but it would be easy to use something like Sound Forge to fade the end of tracks. I can't remember for sure, but I think Sound Forge may even have some sort of batch command.

Peace out,
Will

Some sound card software has simple and effective editing software. What sound card do you have?

Hmmm, I dunno if it does. The only sound card I've seen where I am is Sound Blaster. (*sigh*)
Yours might come with something. But if not, maybe you can get a free download from Creative's site, but I doubt it. The program is called Wave Studio. Good luck.

I use EAC (www.exactaudiocopy.de) and it will let you copy a range, but I don't think it does fades automatically. There is a built-in WAV editor function that will let you apply manual fades, however.
