CD-R Problems.....

I have an external BackPack parallel port cd-r, model 190127. Every time it I try to access the device it'll start for a second, then freeze the system basically. (I can stop the freeze by unplugging the drive) In my experience this is what happens when you have resource conflicts. Now whenever I enable interrupts and/or DMA address the cd-r always takes the same ones as the parallel port. To me this is the root of the problem. How could I help this because I know I have enough free resources to supply all my devices? The drive was working fine before I recently installed XP Professional. Iv updated all drivers / software / firmware.
Thanks for the time.

My parallel Zip drive works great....

My parallel connected Rio 300 doesnt, but I think that's more what program I have to use. (RioPort sorta works with it, but I cant upload tracks)

Got it working......it was some conflict with my zip drive. I just have it unplugged now. I don't regularly need that zip, so whatever. Im not entirely sure why now with XP daisy chaining the two drives would cause a problem.
Cheers
