Not a hot deal.

Anyway, since most of us already have hundreds of disks we got nearly for free over the past year, its hard to believe the price could rise much.

Thank goodness I still have over 550 of the 600 cdr's I've gotten so far, all free after rebates and such. I'm pretty sure there will be more, I hope.

BTW Something is very seriously wrong with me. I think I was born without the gene that causes pleasurable sensations after typing stuff like "In before the lock". Doesn't do a thing for me.

i've always wondered why there have been so many specials on CD-R over the past year, prices will go up this summer, then plummet again in a year or two when rewritable DVD's become the norm

anyway - interesting article, hope it doesn't get locked since we have so many CD-R deals here

totally off topic, just found the most bizarre web site, could be the next "all your base", take a look here

Duodenum:

just wanted to let you know. don't be surprised if your ID gets banned from Anandtech. Mods have made it clear in the past that "in before the lock" is a bannable offense, and i believe some did get banned as a result.

Yeah... but triple the price is still under 50 cents which is still a really good deal... Nothing like free, but still good.

Anybody know of any good Canadian deals? If not, i might just go to Futureshop and stock up on a few spindles.

Years from now you'll be telling your grandchildren, "I can remember a time when CDR's were cheap, Staples.com would pricematch anyone, Outpost.com had free shipping, and Buy.com had a plethora of coupon codes."

You don't need to wait that long to tell people those things-- in fact you could tell some newbies that right now and they'd be impressed. ;)

From the article:

<< While that percentage increase seems like a lot, it's still less than last year's average cost for CD-R media, pegged by IDC at 47 cents per disc. >>

Ok, last year is when I bought all my discs for either free or pretty darn close to it. So I'm not worried at all. I'm still sitting on over 100 and my burner's been acting up so my burning has dropped tremendously.
