CD-R Compatibility Issues?

Hello,
I recently bought a Toshiba SD-m1402 DVD-ROM drive, but it refuses to read any of my burned CD-Rs. Am I doing something wrong when burning them or did I pick up a dud DVD-ROM? I am currently using Ahead Nero 5.0 with a Plextor Plexwriter 8/4/32A, using Taiyo Yuden CD-Rs.

btw the Plextor reads the CD-Rs fine.

Thank you for any help.

I agree. Many DVD rom drives have a problem reading CDR and CDRW disks. The first thing to do is try different brands of CDR's and it may take several trys to find something compatable because color can make a difference (green, blue, silver). I rccomend that you try verbatim, or even imation.
