CD overburning

Not sure if General Hardware is the place to post this question....but I'm going for it anyways:

When you overburn a CD, what are the chances of it being successful, and how much can you overburn?

i've seen the answer somewhere... try one of these:

you should be ok with some brands, as long as you don't try foolish things like burning 90 minutes on 80 minutes CDs... two minutes extra is the maximum I'd recommend...

the media is really important. burning at slower speeds helps too. the best luck i ever had was with PNY 700mb cd's, problem is that i can't find them anymore. >_< every single one of them in the 50 pack i had burned to 750mb
