CD or DVD

Since most pieces of software these days come on CD or DVD, which do you choose, and why? For example, HL2 comes as a 5-CD set or on a single DVD. Which would be better to buy?

I've know that DVD's are more easily damaged than CD's, but it also means that you dont have to change the disc 5 times during the installation.

Anyway, let me know what you think...

DVDs are easier, and im careful not to scratch them, so the dvd would be the obvious choice for me. Cd's do read faster, but i doubt that effects performance.

I have collected so many CDs and DVDs over the years that I get whatever has the least number of parts to keep track of.

I got Half Life 2 through steam, so no CD's or DVD's are needed. Also CD's are far more common than DVD's so CD's are what I voted for.

Always DVD's if the choice is there. Shuffling through 5 FarCry install CD's seems a bit like the multiple floppy disk shuffling back in the day 😛...just unnecessary.

I go for DVDs definitely, in this day and age there should ne no excuse for disc swapping of any kind. I welcome Steam too as an alternative, but only if your on broadband.
I live in Denmark and I can remember when i bought Half Life 2, i opened the box and was annoyed to find 5 cds instead of a single dvd.
