I want to get a new CD or DVD drive for my new computer I will be building, however for the past 3 years throughout all my upgrades I have hung on to my 16x CD-ROM because it is much much quieter than the 50x+ drives. I want a very quiet drive and I am not sure which one to get. Any suggestions would be appreciated otherwise I will go and buy a used 16x or 24x so i can have a quiet computer.

DVD drives are good if you want to watch movies on your computer, not many software titles comes on dvd it never seemed to catch on. I would get a decoder card, much better than useing software. I have the creative encore 12x its not to loud and its got a dolby output and svideo.
