CD/DVD Drive Problem

Ok so the problem is this. When I boot up my computer it sits on "Boot from CD...." for about a minute before it finally starts loading windows. Also, it doesn't detect some CDs/DVDs (that it at one point did read). Im pretty sure these problems are related and was wondering if there is anything I have to do like mess with bios or something.

Help is appreciated.

Sounds like your CD/DVD drive may be failing, or perhaps the cable or controller is failing.

Try removing your CD drive from the boot devices in your BIOS, or move it after the hard drive in the BIOS boot order list. Of course, either of these options will prevent you from being able to boot from a CD as long as you have a valid OS on your hard drive.

Is the CD-Rom empty while you are booting. If it was not, then the system will be searching the cd disc everytime you boot. It it's empty then try changing the order of boot order in the Bios.
