Is there a way to dispose of CDs/DVDs (ones that are bad) other than tossing them in the trash that might be a little environmentally friendlier?

Well, I already have way too many CD coasters from way back in 1998 when I got my first CD writer (the software was really lame and caused a lot of misburned CDs)... just looking for a creative and environmentally friendly way to dispose of these left over discs

They make great targets, they shatter nicely when you shoot them. Take them out to the desert/country, tack them to a fence post and blast away.
