CD Drive problems..

Ok. My mom just went out and bought a CD-RW... I hooked it up and it shows up under My Computer and Device Manager, but when I try to put a CD in, it doesn't detect it or anything. I have tried a ton of CDs, and none of them are being detected. Once I close the drive with the disk in it, it just sits there... No spinning or anything whatsoever.

Any help would be appreciated.
