CD Drive forcing reboot

I was uploading music onto my computer from my CD collection when the CD disc drive seemed to hang (it was getting pretty heavy use). However, after a few seconds this caused my whole system to reboot (no blue screen, no nothing, just straight to reboot).

I just installed a new motherboard and processor (Biostar TPower I45 and Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600), could this have something to do with it? If not what could it be and how might I go about fixing it? Thanks in advance!

Also note that the CD drive is not the one in my sig, but an old drive that I picked out of a Dell. It is typically very fast and reliable.
