I have Nero 5 & CloneCd installed they both detect my Burner fine (or so they say) but when i go to accually burn the disc i get a SCSI/IDE error.

I dont know much about Win2K, just switched over from Win98 (Burner worked fine there), but another thing i noticed is Win2K thinks my CD Burner is a SCSI device, when really it is ATAPI (IDE).

The burner is a Ricoh7083A.

Do i need to install anything extra? I remember in WinNT4 having to download some extra stuff.

Ohh SP1 is installed.
Thanks for the help

If it is your aspi setup then you will need to use a program called forceaspi which will update your system to the correct aspi files. If you have a via chipset I would recommend installing the latest drivers as well as any updates relevant to W2K. Your problem sounds like a driver problem since in the past via drivers and W2K recognize everything as SCSI.

Um, leave all of your ASPI stuff alone. Before you get stuck in that mess, uninstall the VIA busmaster drivers. This will proabbly solve your problem. I had the same problem when I moved to Win2K from Win98SE. I started changing all my ASPI drivers and in the end had to backtrack and put everything back the way it was.
