CD Burner reports 128k of data on blank CDRs

I have a Yamaha 8824s internal SCSI burner. Every blank cd I put in the drive is shown as having 128kb of existing data in it (using My Computer/Properties). Naturally, my Roxio software will not let me write on the disc. The CD is displayed correctly in my other SCSI cdrom drive and in other computers' drives. I even burned data onto one of the discs on another computer. Has anyone had a similar experience or is my burner malfunctioning? Thanks.
