CD Burner Problems

I bought a Philips 8x4x32 burner. Im trying to make a copy of a cd (actually several different kinds). Ive tried copying software cds, audio cds, data cds. Anyways, everytime I try copying I get a different error, sometimes itll be Invalid block address, sometimes itll be 'Power Callibration Error', etc. Never a buffer underrun though. Both drives are on DMA and different IDE channels. Ive tried Nero (latest version) as well as CloneCD latest version. Im not trying to even copy protected cds. Normally Id think it was a bad drive, but I bought one at Best Buy and it was giving me these problems, so I returned it and the new one is giving me the exact same ones. I tried formatting and reinstalling Win2k and Nero again, same stuff.

System:
Tbird 1.33 ghz
256 DDR PC2100
MSI K7 Master
Toshiba 16x DVD
Philips 8x4x32
Asus V7700 GF2 GTS Pro 32 meg
Win2k w/ SP2 and hot fixes
Via 4 in 1 4.32
AMD AGP patch

And I also doubt its my ASPI layer because I have an old Mitsumi 4x2x8 that works just fine. Any ideas please?

Ok I upgraded the firmware to 2.5 and Im still getting the same problems, basically any cd I try to copy gives me an "Invalid Block Address" at somepoint in time or another. I know its not the media because I even tried using the Philips media that came with the drive. Any suggestions?
