I'm guessing you have maybe a live tape or something you want to split? You can use Cool Edit Pro. I think they may have a demo.

I'm assuming you mean a 63-minute .wav file and you want to burn it to CD-R and be able to skip to different parts of the song when you want to but still be able to have it play through without any gaps at the track "breaks"?

You can do this using Cool Edit 2000 (shareware, Cool Edit Pro is $$$) to find the time where you want the track splits, and then use CDRWIN to burn the disc using a cue sheet to tell it where to insert track markers.

Just make sure in Cool Edit you choose to display a custom time format, the default is hh:mm:ss.ss, you will want to use hh:mm:ss:frames, and set it so that 75 frames=1 second (CD times are measured 75 frames/second) CDRWIN will want the time set in the cue sheet using this unit of measure. The help files in both programs explain it in more detail.

are you gonna burn it to cd again? if so...rip the track to the HD, open it in Nero (or what ever you use), using Nero's editor you can set track markers where ever you want, burn to disc making sure you edit the track properties BEFORE you burn and that the pause between tracks is set to 0. i do this all the time from live recordings. very easy to do.

I prefer Feurio to Nero for burning audio. In particular, splitting a track into multiple continuous shorter tracks is something that it does very well.

Simply drag the audio track from the source CD or Wave file into a new project. Fire up the track editor. Use the Action->Split Track (Linked) command to split the track into smaller ones.

Duhh...an even easier way that all mentioned above is to use CDwav. You can go to their site (which seems to be down right now) or go to this page for all your CDR needs. That whole cool edit idea is way to complicated for what you wanna do. nero, feurio or cdwav will work a lot faster and easier.
