I've decided that for $100 dollars I might as well get a piece of paper that certifies I know what I already know...

was wondering if any of you recent CCNA certified people had any recommended quick reading materials to prepare for the exam format? I picked up this Exam Cram Routing and Switching book this evening and it looks ok...

Is this enough for exam preparation? Any advice?

I don't see any financial benefits coming out of having this ccna I just figured that $100 wasn't that much just to have it.

Any recommendations? Should I just go take it?

If you really have suggestions don't you think it might be worthwhile to share them instead of dangling it in front of his nose?

I've heard great things about the Cybex book by Todd Lamme (sp?) but it's quite large and not really the short cramming type of book you might be looking for.

If you feel comfortable with the OSI model, and basic IOS commands, I would say just go take it. It's good to have, in case you want to get the CCNP later on.

Id help, but im sick of people talking down certs.

Would you rather me lie and say that this $100 certificate is going to change my life in some mysterious way?

I'm being perfectly honest.... and was hoping for direct honest replies that offered recommendations. I don't need the cert for anything right now. CCNP may interest me in a short while and the CCNA is a prereq as I understand.

Thanks. Does a CCNA have any side benefits like resource material (free magazines/journals) from cisco... or anything cool like that?
