CC Sabathia - this generation's John Kruk

Pic - Good to see CC showing up in shape...well, he showed up as a shape...round...for Spring Training.

Reminds me of John Kruk's line, "I ain't an athlete, lady. I'm a baseball player."

lol i enjoyed Kruk. to bad he got burned out on baseball.

Me, too, one of my fav Phils. A highlight of their pennant winning 1993 season was when they interviewed his Dad, and even his own father referred to him as "the Krukker." 😛

I'm pretty sure anyone stretching in that pose is going to look a bit heavy, let alone a guy who is 6'7 and runs in the 280+ range.

He's a huge person, period - while he may not look like the cover model for Men's Health magazine, he's worked very hard the last 3-4 years and takes his conditioning much more seriously than you might think.

I hate the Yankees, but he's a stud pitcher, a good person, and now a rich mofo!

I don't like him because he doesn't wear his hat right. I'm assuming that the Yankees will make him.

Mattingly! Shave those sideburns!

He has more chins than a Taiwanese little league team.

I don't care what he weighs. He's not in the top 10 payrolls because he steals bases...

Oh man, CC stealing bases - I would pay so much money to see that. Too bad it would never happen 😛

Mr. Burns, I don't think you know what sideburns are.

he figures he only plays once every 5 days anyway... did I mention pitchers are overpaid?

As Brewers fan i think he earned every single dollar he got last year.....

Undoubtedly they have a lot more pressure to perform but his teammates play everyday and need to perform also. Overpaid meaning they get a chance of 1 win every 5 days for a disproportionate amount of cash paid to him? Nah... not fair.

If I were to do it right, I'd put it in bonuses like playoff performance / victories instead. But what do they care... baseball with its ridiculous number of home games a year and cult following despite slow play - they're not hurting for cash.
