Compusa is 80+60 - 60 mail in = 80 final cost
Circuit City is 100+70 - 50 mail in - 20 mail in = 100 final cost
Pricematch as below is 80 (router) +.01 (adapter) - 50 mail in - 20 mail in = 40 final cost

Compusa has the Netgear MR814NA wireless router for $80 out of store.
If you also buy the Netgear MA101 Wirless USB/PC Card out of store for $60 you get $60 back in mail in rebates ($30 is from Compusa and $30 is from Netgear) so it ends up being free.

Circuit City has the router for $100 out of store and you get $50 back in mail in rebates ($30 from Circuit City and $20 from Netgear).
They have the USB adapter/PC Card for $70 out of store and you get back $20 in mail in rebates ($10 from Circuit City and $10 from Netgear).

Edit: I went to Circuit City and got them to 110% pricematch the Compusa router price so it came to just under the $80 and the $70 in rebates printed so final cost will be $8.

I printed everything out last night, including the CUSA National Weelky Flyer, with an enlargement of the Netgear page. Last night the CC website showed my closest local CC was OOS of the Netgear router, but the next closest CC had it in stock. So, my plan was to go to my closest CC and pending them honoring the PM to CUSA go ahead and pre purchase the router and either the PC Card or the USB Adapter and then pick them up at the other CC. This is what I did last year for the Dlink. To my surprise (not really) my closest CC had 2 of the routers on the shelf and several of the PC Cards and USB Adapters.

I chatted with this one guy about the PM, as he was going around pricing network gear. I told him about the anandtech website here, so if he ends up here, HI!

Something I did notice about the USB adapter is that some the newer ones are marked Win XP compatible and have a 3 year warantee; the older ones have a 5 year warantee.

$ 77.98 router
.01 Adapter

$ 77.99 Total

-$30.00 router MFG rebate
-$20.00 router CC rebate
-$10.00 Adapter MFG rebate
-$10.00 Adapter CC rebate

$8 Total !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I received my PC Card for the Amazon combo I got for $40.

$40 + 8 = $48 for 2 sets ($24 each)

I'm really surprised and shocked that more people aren't commenting on this. It was SOOO easy to do.

So Circuit City will PM the CUSA Price even though their after rebate price is the SAME -- both end up being $79.99. Free USB Adapter-they just give you.

Okay, I went -- no USB adapters -- they PM'd the router to $49.99 and the PC card to $29.99 = $79.98 Plus Tax = $85.02 -- no 110% and no rebate print outs. I printed the forms from the Web - I assume there is no issue submitting them ?

Also she put on the receipt the following:
CM CTC COMP USA Free PC Card Offer,If one Item is Returned He Has to pay CM Full Price for the other.
No mention of disqualified for rebates ? $70 in rebates makes my price $15.02 AR.

NOW for the big issue -the Netgear Rebates - I am sending in for the Amazon deal so I bet I need to send these in under a different name and address ?

I tried this at the CC in Decatur (Atlanta), and was shot down completely. They said the best they'd do is PM the retail prices before rebates ($79.99 and $59.99), and printed off the rebates. So your mileage can and probably will vary on this. I wouldn't plan on getting the $15.02 DEAL - you got REALLY lucky getting them to PM the post-rebate prices on everything.

As for the rebates, I would DEFINITELY do different names and addresses if you're doing this and the Amazon deal - the address is the same with a slightly different deal number.

Do you think they will deny the rebates ? I assume at least the netgear ones are good for $30. Dangit I just mailed everything off to CC and Netgear too. I do not want this for $85 !

The CUSA prince is the 'out the door price.' PM CC to CUSA, then send in CC's rebates.

I got the Amazon combo for $40, too. I was looking at the rebates that go to Netgear and they have differnt promotion numbers. So, they should go thru.

just got home from cc. pm'ed cusa, and got them both for 110, the reason being there's a 30 rebate on the usb adapter and there's a 30 rebate on the actual router, so he said 110, get both minus the 110% pm guarantee, and then i have to send in the 30 rebate.

so that makes my final cost ~40, which is still hot considering i spent 60 for a piece of crap smc wireless router that sucks arse like its drinking out of a well of euro...

CC has 2 rebates on the router, one for $30 and the other for $20. As for the USB adapter, CC has two $10 rebates. Go to the website and print them out.

thanks shelby,

i should have been clearer:

At Compusa, there's a $30 rebate on the usb adapter, and at CC there's a $30 rebate on the router. So instead of giving me the usb adapter for free, he pm'ed the router first, and then added on $30, which will be deducted later in the rebate you mentioned, which is obviously on the router. Its still a great deal, I'm just paying $30 more than you are... wait a minute, that sucks!!! haha, jk

But I'm SOOOOOOOOO happy with this thing. I had the SMC barricade before and that sucked. Also, it didn't support WEP on my orninoco built in wireless card, so i chucked that thing and so far I'm so happy with this thing. Mine came with the latest firmware already(no need to fiddle around with changing firmwares), and its working great!!

Thanks Shelby!!!!

The manager at the CC I went to was a total Arse-hole. He came to me totally condescending and tried to force a pm on me (to the $80, after MIRs), not even the 110%. I basically said "I'll buy it at CompUSA for the same price minus the poor treatment" and left. No intention of buying at CUSA, but I'll try again at my CC when I go home for the weekend. Maybe this time I won't get a jerk of a person to talk to. Is there any way to get the combined rebate for the MA401 and the MR814? If there is let me know. I wouldnt mind pming the stuff, buying it, then casually mention to that jerk of a manager that I got another $30 because of a rebate he didn't know about. Wouldn't mind rubbing it in at all, especially when he thought he could make me pay the price he wanted.
