Here is my original thread about getting screwed over by CC on Black Friday. It took some prying, but they've offered me this laptop, presumably at a comparable price ($200 + a 12-month AOL contract [$180]). Are there any problems with it that I should be aware of? Also, any idea about the battery life? Thanks, and hoo-rah for me, AT (special thanks to Nick5324), and the Utah Division of Consumer Protection!

Other than the Celeron it looks pretty nice.

My only concern would be the battery life, in some of these cheap models they barely last 1.5 hours. My Dell XPS M140 with 9 cell lasts over 7 hours, woot!

Maybe ask them for a discount on an extended warranty?

Toshiba is know to use small batterys and the Celeron has no type of speed step so it runs at full power ALL the time.

But the onboard graphics and the rest are ok.

I forgot, how did you get screwed over at CC on BF? I remember reading that thread and didn't you actually get a voucher for one of the laptops but you gave it away right? How were you screwed then?

You were not screwed and you deserve nothing.

You stood in line for laptops. You were too far back in line to get what you wanted...oops, not their fault.

You then lucked into a voucher for the item you did want when someone else gave theirs up, but then you gave it away and left.

You screwed yourself. They shouldn't have to do anything for your whining ass.

15 laptops were gauranteed at the advertised price, only 10 wer available. The OP was #13 in line and would have qualified for one of the laptops at the advertised price but did not as a result of false advertising and a supply shortage. See that wasn't too dificult to understand.

Oh man, you totally pwned me. They guaranteed a minimum of 15 laptops at $199 with AOL subscription. They only had 10 at this price. Huh.

EDIT: Yes, what he ^ said.

But he actually got a voucher for the original good deal which he voluntarily gave away. So in the end didn't he bring it upon himself? (evne though he did a very nice thing for the other couple)

Yes I did, but I bet the couple I gave the voucher to wouldn't have done anything about not getting a laptop, and Circuit City would've gotten away with false advertising, so I think it turned out well in the end. Besides, even if I don't deserve it, I'm happy to get a cheap laptop, and I don't think I'll be putting CC out of business or anything, so you can call me a whiny ass if it makes you happy (I realize you aren't the one who said that, though).
