Interesting how clearly Americans are against this war in Iraq, and this is despite strong efforts from a few extremists to spread misleading information about limited success in places like Anbar. Tragically, we will never win this war the way it is being fought now, and the majority of Americans agree. Not that the average American citizen is an expert, but every non-partisan Iraq group has been saying the same thing before and during this surge; it hasn't worked to achieve the ultimate goal, which is a rooting out terrorism and giving Iraq a fighting chance to install a democratic beacon of light in the ME.
On a different note, it's been enlightening seeing just how little Democrats have pushed through their policy in Iraq. They attempted once to set timetables for withdrawal, which they knew would get vetoed by Bush, but they have also been unable to get even the slightest accommodations elsewhere, such as lengthening the time off troops get between tours of duty.
