I've owned 3 of these and they have all died. Each on a separate computer. I've treated them all nicely and still they die.

The 1st one I bought about March and it died 2 weeks later...
had an extremely hard time trying to get through Customer Service but a very polite japanese woman finally agreed my mouse was dead. So I trashed it and they sent me a new one.

While waiting, I said, meh what the hell -- was just unlucky and got a bad apple. So I bought another one. Ok, I'm happy while waiting for the one I just put an order for on newegg, the replacement one came in the mail. Worked perfectly BUT after 1 week use (on a different PC!) this one also died... WTF?

The new one then came in and -- I had my fingers crossed. Worked perfectly for about 4 months till today it also died!

OMG. It pissed me off so bad.
So I need to replace 2 mice now... 3yr warranty...hooray

be careful cos 1 can be bad luck 2 can be terrible luck but 3? comeon. I'm sure some of you think it's an issue on my end but believe me, i've treated my mice well. One I use @ my office -- crappy IBM machine. The other 2 on my gaming PC.

So I'm gonna RMA them, sell the sealed ones on ebay (ahem!) and buy a wired mouse -- anything that's not logitech... POS.

Strange... Maybe just bad luck? :/

Get the G5 instead. I own 3 of them and they've been working flawlessly for the last 6 months with heavy usage.

I've never had a Logitech mouse die on me, so I'd say you just have bad luck. My MX1000 is still working beautifully, as well as an MX300 and countless other Logitech mice I've owned that I replaced because there was something better, not because it broke. Their PC controllers on the other hand...

The difference may be the fact that the G7 is wireless. my microsoft optical wired mouse has been going strong for like 4 yrs!

how exactly did they die...
i guarantee not buttons because my mx518 has no signs of wearing out except the logitech emblem is fading (thepaint on the logitech on the medal badge)

they simply failed to communicate -- the wireless receptor and the mouse. Their support said that it was the main cause of failure. So look elsewhere folks.
