Cavalier owns my 240sx :(

In top gear, my friend's automatic Cavalier can cruise at 90 at 3000rpm. At that speed, my 240sx is way over 4000rpm. WHY MUST NISSAN TORTURE ME WITH HIGH RATIO 5TH GEAR?!:brokenheart:

If I want to accelerate at 90mph, I can shift down to 4th kthx. Not that you need that much high speed acceleration when the top speed is only 116mph..

In the Maxima I think I'm about 3k at 80 mph. I do wish it had a 6th gear that was merciful on RPM for highway driving. 3rd gear will redline me at about 100 and 4th at about 125..

My car is 3.5k at 80. A 6th gear would be nice.

Heh, my car's only 2000RPM at 70MPH. I say hello to the speed limiter (115MPH from the factory, 125 w/ the taller tires) at 4500RPM in 4th, and 3500RPM in 5th. I've considering trying to compete in the Silver State Classic or Pony Express 100 race under the 120MPH class where I can just zing it to the speed limiter and put a rock on the gas pedal.

Pick a highway .... any highway. Actually, I live in a highly-congested metro area and have been driving 90 MPH on many occasions. Granted, not always the best idea ... but, it is quite possible.

hahaha..NoVa here as well. 395 is only 55 speed limit but I (and most others) go well above that

The odometer usually doesn't work, pointing anywhere between 0 and the empty space underneath the dial, sometimes moving randomly. Occasionally, it does seem to work however, pointing to numbers that seem logical and moving in a way that seems legit.

So, I was on the highway this morning going 75, and I was only turning 2000 RPM's. It could have been more or less, I don't really trust what it says. Its a good thing its an automatic.

If you wanna drift like a mofo, get a truck. Light rear end+torque+RWD and the possibility of having tires that are rock hard=the easiest tail to wag. But drifting doesn't mean you're any good at driving fast.

Usually it does, but you what you described is not a configuration for drifting.
