caution to cigarette litter bugs =D

I was on the way home from work.. driving on the freeway next to this silver accord coupe; female driver is smoking .. she finishes the cig and decides to throw it out the window but to her surprise the cig flys back into her rear seat.. Then i read her lips.. "OH SH!T"

I started Laughing my ass off... That just made my Monday!!

Dear cigarette litterbugs.... please be considerate to the cars behind you. Ive had numerous amounts of cig buds hit my car. That pisses me off, and im sure it does others.

hahaha, they should get fined $500 every time they do it, they think just because its a cig they can throw it anywhere they want ! Somebody should go to their house and pour trash all over their yard just to show them what its like

I agree. I smoke and never throw it out the window. ALways have a bottle to throw that crap in so it wont stink up the truck.

In all seriousness, when have you ever seen anyone actually get pulled over/get a fine for littering? I have never seen it, other than public urination!!! 😀

These are trivial laws which are rarely enforced. I doubt cops wanna interrupt their donut scarffing to issue a fine for this.

Agreed. Why some people think they're justified throwing trash out their window and onto the ground is beyond me. It's not even always smokers, I hate the people who throw out their food wrappers, etc, as well. :disgust:

Ciggarette butts have been attributed to quite a few fires. Is it too much to ask to just use an ash tray rather than littering and burning down places?

Ummm... Have you been around a TV set in the last couple of weeks. Seen any pics of large fires?

Yep. Live in AZ and even though the largest forest fire in the state is burning less than 100 miles away, i drive home after work and every night i see someone toss a lit cig out the window.

I hate cigarette litter. The streets, sidewalks, and parks are caked with them, and they were put there one little butt at a time. Back when I smoked, I always used an ashtray.

Most cops don't have time to enforce laws like littering or failure to use a turn signal. They are too busy responding to the call for the gang related shooting or trying to meet their quota (the one they say doesn't exist) of speeding tickets. I see all the time people will throw their cigarette butts out their window with a cop car behind them or/and not signal and the cop does nothing. God forbid should you be doing more than 5 - 10 over the speed limit though. 🙁

my story takes the cake.

on a drive to vegas with a couple of buddies, a highway patrol officer pulls me over for:

1. speeding ($270)
2. unsafe lane change ($125)
3. no proof of insurance ($10)
4. no proof of registration ($10)
5. littering - throwing a lit cigarette out on the highway ($250)

that taught me a lesson in life - always use your cars ashtray - it is there for a reason.

BTW - god doesn't like me too much, i now have a convertible and i have had cigarettes thrown into my car from litterbugs on two occassions and it pisses the sh*t out of me.
