Caulk for countertop

What should I use? I've read silicon is best, I've read latex acrylic is best, then the whole sanded vs unsanded. I'm guessing I have acrylic sanded now it comes off easy, its brittle and course. Picture below is the area I have to seal. The counter & backsplash are both granite.
