Caught Swine Flu

So, I'm laid up in bed with the swine flu. I thought I had bronchitis, but I went to the clinic and was diagnosed with H1N1. Luckily, I have asthma, so I got my medicine free. It's normally $100.

But I'm going to have to make up a shitload of hours at work today.
 
on a serious note... follow all medical advice to a T. If you start feeling worse in a way you've never experienced, don't even question posting here... or following up with a professional works too.
Having asthma puts you in a higher risk group, as there could be some serious developments as the bug progresses.
 
I have developed a cough over the last 2 days.
I attribute it to allergies.

What other symptoms would I see if I had the swine flu?

shit that's rough. You too, pay seriously close attention to your symptoms. The worst cases have shared that.
Did the doctors mention specifically viral or bacterial pneumonia by chance? Viral means its going to probably be like hell regardless.

But get away from activities you don't need to be doing and focus on rest. Any extra help you can afford to give your body the better you'll be.

Thanks for the advice 🙂

Being a health care type I'm lucky to know what to look for. It's bacterial so antibiotics will help.

If I start posting cockeyed later tonight, it's probably the Tussionex 😉

Ah well that's good to hear. Viral would have meant a hell of a rough ride and likely all as a result of some serious immune reactions to the virus. Bacterial pneumonia riding along with a viral respiratory infection though... no doubt that's got to be full of suck.

Know which one started first? Did the pneumonia seem to start first? Seems like that would make sense, viruses love to hit up the body when it's fighting a bacterial infection.

When I had a sinus infection I caught the flu in the middle of the 6 weeks of sinus infection, and it caused the sinus infection which was on the way to clearing up to come back with vengeance for another 3 weeks, that time using antibiotics to make sure I got rid of that shit.

I hate my sinuses.
But oddly enough, I've never had pneumonia. Always upper respiratory, most likely caused by my terrible sinuses my whole life. Annually, either a sinus infection or influenza, or both at some point in the same year.

Same as for any flu: high fevers, generalized muscle aches, headaches, nausea, fatigue/malaise
