The only time I'm offended by racial slurs is if they can use them. If an "african-american" can call another a n*gger, then why can't I? I mean, I'm not racist, but this double standard stuff is bullsh!t.

*think McFly, think!*

Because when a term is used against the same race, it is used jokingly, since it applies to both. But if one race uses it to another race, it is used to insult one's ethnicity.

Now this is different with friends of course.

I think it's funny. Heaven forbid if caucasians call them the n word. -M

If someone called me "a colored person" I would get offended...

I've been called "white bread" to my face a couple of times, and I'll admit that it did get under my skin a little bit.

Hah. Funny story. When I first went to college I rented a room from an older lady who used the word 'colored' all the time. I didn't really think anything of it because I came from an area where there are no such people. Anyway, I used the same word in an English class. The professor was of Native American descent. She unleashed a zealous fury of liberal castigation. Also funny is the fact that MLK Jr. used the term 'people of color', but you aren't supposed to use the word 'colored' anymore. So, I forget what the correct term is supposed to be now--black?

As for the OP's question, I'd only be offended if someone was trying to start some BS.

Yes and I am not white. I am sorta pink.

it must not be that bad..didnt mr. jefferson call my mr. willis that all the time?

but i do not recall mr. willis every calling mr. jefferson the dreaded n word

Nope. I'm not easily offended. I'm also not threatened or offended by the fact that other people find derogatory words offensive, so I refrain from calling anyone names (most of the time.)

A derogatory term is so in any fashion. I don't care what you or anyone else says, but if you use it, you can be damn sure I won't stop myself from using it.

i joke with my sister and other indian friends and call them a dot head and monkey worshipper...but I would prolly throw down if you said something like that. rationalize it all you want, but thats how it works.

My sister-in-law callse me beloved patriot a lot. but then she always does it whit a smile and will usually give me a hug after. can't think of the last time i was called beloved patriot by anyone else.

What's funny is this thread would be locked and the OP banned if this thread were directed toward black people. Racial slurs are okay when used against whites.

Wow, I've never heard ANYBODY say that before

Really? Maybe you haven't notice, this board is at least 95% white. Its a snow blown Christmas here everyday and the whites here are too busy bashing other races to talk about their own. I can say with absolute certainity if I or anyone talked about whites and used the same type of vicious posts that are used to talk about minorities here, that person would be banned forever. In all these threads you get the proverbial why can't I call a person a n!gger, but another black person can use it. Simple, same reason I can't come in here and call whites cr@ckers, but a white person can come here and refer to whites as being wiggers and its all cool.
